Defender II is a side-scrolling shoot 'em up video game developed and published by Williams Electronics in 1981. The player controls a spaceship, defending humanoids from alien invaders across multiple levels. The game features a variety of power-ups and enemy types, and introduces a new gameplay element of building and repairing barriers to protect the humanoids. The game was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1988 under the title "Defender II", and also includes an updated version of the original Defender game.
