The game follows the story of the first arc, "The Macross Saga," where humans find a crashed alien spaceship and use its technology to fend off an alien invasion. In the game, players control a transforming fighter jet called a Veritech and battle against waves of enemy ships and mechs while progressing through levels that follow the show's storyline.
