Gemfire is a turn-based strategy game developed by Koei and released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1992. Players control one of several kingdoms vying for control over the magical land of Ishmeria. The game features resource management, diplomacy, and combat elements as players use their armies to conquer enemy territories and expand their own. Gemfire also includes a unique magic system that allows players to cast spells using special gems, which must be mined and collected throughout the game.
